Decide to Love

Steve and Paula,

Today at your wedding we are excited to celebrate your love and your commitment to love each other for the rest of your lives.  There is a lot that goes into loving:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Right now, your feelings of love probably feel invincible and unending.  Here at your wedding, it is pretty easy to love each other.  But, feelings are fickle, and they can change.  When you commit today to love each other for your lives, you commit to choose to love, even when you don't feel like it.  The photo I attached is from the wall above the headboard of our bed.  Every day, Courtney and I are reminded to make the decision to love each other, even when it might not be what we feel like doing.
